Drawing Conclusions Bell Ringers for ESL Students | Grades 6–9
This resource gives middle school ESL students 4 days of focused practice drawing conclusions from short informational texts. It's designed specifically for multilingual learners — with short passages, guided questions, and sentence frames that help students use clues from the text to draw conclusions and explain their thinking in writing.
Each day guides students to use context clues to draw conclusions, recognize key details that support their thinking, find text evidence in the passage, and explain their answers using evidence from the text. All four activities come in three differentiated versions — Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced — so your whole mixed-level class can practice the same skill at the right language level.
Works well as a daily bell ringer, reading warm-up, or test prep activity in middle school and high school ESL classrooms.
What's included: 4 days of practice · 3 proficiency levels (Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced) · sentence frames · structured questions · answer key · printable PDF + Google Slides
Best for: Grades 6–9 · ESL & multilingual learners · mixed-level classrooms · reading test prep
